Mascots are used to represent a public identity. Do you view Jesus as just a mascot in your life?
20 We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. 21 Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.

I believe a personal r-e-l-a-t-i-o-n-s-h-i-p with God (Jesus Christ) is what makes Christianity unique amoung all the world’s faiths. Treating anyone we are in a relationship with as a mascot would quickly end the relationship.

I see many people wearing crosses on their shirts, around their necks, even putting them on their cars…yet when they open their mouth or go to react to something they do not sound or act anything like Jesus did. We are human, so we are flawed, but today I am going to try to not just show my faith through symbols. I am going to show others who I believe in by my actions.
